Summer Prayer Walk

Hey everyone, just wanted to let everyone know that there is a prayer walk in the youth hall this week.  There are five rooms that focus on different parts of this upcoming summer.  One focuses on Caswell/VBA, another on the Dominican Republic trip, another for the Red Springs/Deep Impact trip, one on the names of God and one on holiness.  All you have to do is read the directions on the white boards.  You can come anytime during the day (9am – 5 pm) and either Kevin or I will let you in.  It will be up on Wednesday night so be sure to come a little early or plan to stay a little late to walk through.  You can probably be done in 20-30 minutes, but you can take as long as you would like.  I hope that everyone can participate in this as prayer works wonders.  I am super excited about this summer and cannot wait to see what God has in store for us.

May Prayer Walk

Jesus said,”I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.  Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.  For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”  Matt 18:18-20.

  • We praise God for his love and mercy and for providing everything we need.  We have such an amazing and powerful God!
  • We are so thankful for a loving church family we have at Salem.  We are thankful for all of the new faces that he brings to us each week.   Try and reach out to someone new this month in youth group.  It could be someone new or someone you haven’t spent a lot of time with yet.
  • Pray for vbs & vba.  Pray the hearts and lives will be changed that week and that God would be praised because of it.  Pray for the workers that are needed to make these events happen and for the strength and wisdom of the teachers and leaders.
  • Start praying for our summer trip to Caswell, that we would have open hearts and minds to what God will be teaching us that week.  Pray for our safety and for the team that will be leading us that week.  Pray for the adult chaperones that they would have the endurance and patience they need and that they would too be refreshed that week.
  • Pray for our mission trips to Red Springs and The Dominican Republic.  Pray that the funds needed would be raised and prayer support would be provided.  Pray for our safety and boldness as we go to proclaim Jesus and witness to others.  Pray for the people we will be meeting that they would be open to hearing about God’s word.
  • Lift up the seniors as senior salute is about to take place.  Pray that would be a good time of encouragement for them and their families.
  • Continue to be in prayer for our schools.  Pray for a revival to flow throughout and God’s name to be famous.
  • Pray for Salem’s leaders and staff.  That they would be encouraged, have wisdom, strength and focus.  Pray for their families and thank God for their hard work and dedication to the Salem church family.
  • Pray for a missionary this month.  We have several from Salem you could pray for or anyone else that you might know.
  • Pray for all of the students (college & highschool) that are going on a mission trip this summer.  We have students going all over the world and they need our prayer support.  Pray that they would receive the funds they need and any other needs they have would be met.  Pray for their safety and for their bold witness and encouragement.
  • The building has started going up out back.  Remember to keep praying for this project and that the support and funds would be met and that through all of this God would receive all of the praise.
  • Foster community and pray for another ministry at Salem or elsewhere that you are not part of.
  • We ask that we would be the salt and the light to our cities.  Pray for your city and for the lost ones in your life.  Ask that God would place someone in your heart that you need to reach out to and ask God for the courage to make that step and act on what you believe.  We ask that we would be courageous wittnesses for Christ and not live scared.
  • We pray that You would increase and we would decrease.

February Prayer Walk

It’s time to come together again in one accord and pray to our Father.  God is working and we have so many things to be thankful for.  Jesus says, I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.  Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.  For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”  Matt 18:18-20.  Let us bind together our requests and ask Jesus to be with us now.

  • We are so thankful for the wonderful ski retreats we had.  We praise God for the fun and fellowship we had with each other and we all stayed safe.
  • We are so excited about the first ever unplugged event.  We had many who made commitments of faith that night – some for the very first time.  We praise God for the work he did through that event and are so thankful for the opportunity we had in sharing his love and salvation with some who have never heard it.  Please be in prayer over this event as we continue to think about what should happen next.
  • We are so thankful for all of the wonderful adults who have taken time out to serve God and help out in the youth group.  We couldn’t do these kind of events without them and we just want to thank God for them.
  • Pray for Disciple Now.  We pray for the ones who are coming to this event who have never accepted Christ as their Savior.  We pray that they would hear and accept that weekend and accept boldly.  We pray for bold commitments of faith for our whole group.  We pray for connection within our smaller groups and that connection would be felt as a entire youth group.  Pray for the ones you want to invite.  Ask God to lay someone on your heart that you need to invite.  Pray for our speaker, worship leader, small group leaders and host home parents.  We want Disciple Now to be prayed up.
  • Start lifting up our summer mission trips and summer camp.  Pray that the funds and support needed would be met.  Let your brothers and sisters know that you are praying for them and pray over these trips together.
  • We pray for the leaders and staff of Salem Baptist Church.  We pray for support, encouragement, community, wisdom, guidance and faith.  We are so thankful for the ones who have answered your call and are leading are congregation.
  • We pray for our missionaries.  We pray that they would feel God’s Holy Spirit guiding them each day.  We are so thankful for their commitment to sharing God’s love in places that have never heard or that might not have a bible in their own language.  We pray that they would be able to get past the language barriers that sometimes might get in the way.  We pray that doors would be opened to have more opportunities to share the gospel.   We pray that the feelings of loneliness would be replaced by the new connections they are making with the ones you have put in their lives.   We pray for their security and support and wisdom.
  • Foster community and pray for another ministry that you are not a part of.
  • Pray for our schools.  The students, teachers and staff.  Pray for safety and that our classmates would find love for one another through Christ.  We pray that we would be a bold witness and testimony of Christ’s love.
  • We ask that when the Holy Spirit reminds us to pray and spend time reading God’s word that we would act on it.  Let us be faithful to our Savior and make Him the most important thing in our lives.
  • We pray that our faith would increase.  That we would become less and You will become more.

January Prayer Walk

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and break from school.  We have been praying for you all.  Let’s come together now and offer up praise and prayer to our God in one accord.  Jesus said, I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.  Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.  For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”  Matt 18:18-20.

  • We are so thankful for the blessings of this Christmas season.  Thank you God for coming to earth and taking away our sins and offering us the free gift of eternal life with You.  Thank you for families that love us and for the time we had with one another.
  • Thank you God for another year you have given us.  We pray that we will honor and glorify You this year.  We will press on toward the goal and remember that you our a God of fresh starts.  Your mercies are made new every morning.  Thank you so much Lord for never giving up on us, even when we sometimes do.  We pray we will have new eyes and see things the way your eyes see them.  We pray we will act and be bold in our faith.  We pray we will grow closer with You, God this year.  Thank you Lord for a new day and new year.

  • We pray for the continued guidance and support for the time to transform and building campaign at Salem.
  • Pray for another ministry that you are not a part of.
  • We want to lift up our schools.  Two of our schools have been through a tough situation and we want to lift up all the families and friends that have been affected by this.  God, we know that you are in control and we rest in you.   You are our comfort and our strength and we look to you for guidance.  We pray for safety in our schools.  For a spirit of love and appreciation for one another.  We ask that the love of Jesus would overflow our lives and spill out onto our fellow students.
  • We ask that our faith would increase and that we would decrease.

November Prayer Walk

It’s time to come together and pray in the name of Jesus Christ.  We hope that all of you are praying everyday for these things but it is nice each month to pray collectively over the same requests -for Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.  Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.  For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”  Matt 18:18-20.   Let’s come together in Jesus’ name and invite the Holy Spirit to lead our prayer time together.

  • We praise God, the creator of the universe, for all that he works out according to His will.  We are a nation that has so much to be thankful for.  Let us not take for granted what God has given us and thank Him for it.  We thank God for our homes, families and church family and most importantly for the Grace that was given to us in the Salvation of Jesus Christ.
  • We praise God for the decisions that were made at Judgement House, and the lives that have changed.  Continue to pray for all of your brothers & sisters in Christ that have made decisions this past year.  Encourage them in their walk of Faith.
  • This past month our Country elected a new President.  It’s time to pray for Him.  Pray for his wisdom in leading our Country, the strength he is going to need in difficult times.  Pray for his safety as well as his families safety.  Pray that he will call on God for guidance in his leadership.
  • Continue to pray for our summer mission trips and summer camps.  We ask that God would work all of the little details out but most importanly that peoples lives will be changed.
  • Pray for our Pastors and leaders, for unity, strength, passion and wisdom.  Lift up their families and ministries that they are a part of.
  • Pray for the families of Salem.  There are families that are hurting and need lifting up.  There are families that have lost family members who need to turn to Christ.  Be encouraging to one another and stand up for the hurting and lost of Salem.
  • Continue to pray for our missionaries, for their strength, guidance and comfort – the holiday season is coming up and many of them are apart from their families.  Pray for their lonliness as they miss their loved ones during this time of year.  Consider sending them a note or email.
  • Lift up your school, pray for salvation of your friends and fellow schoolmates, teachers and principals.  Pray for safety.  Pray that your generation will rise up and make Christs’ name famous.
  • Pray for a ministry this week that you are not a part of.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to convict you to study God’s word and that you will act on that conviction.
  • Ask that our faith would increase.  That we would become less and He would become more.

Psalm 57:9 – I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples.

October Prayer Walk

Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.  Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.  For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”  Matt 18:18-20.  Let’s continue walking in prayer together this month.  It’s so cool how God connects us through prayer by the Holy Spirit.  Even though we are not all together in one room right now, we are still united by Christ’s love.  I hope everyone is having a great week. God is moving among us and we have so many things to be thankful for!

  • Praise God for our awesome fall retreat!  We had at least two professions of faith that weekend and so many other decisions made.  Thank you God for your Holy Spirit and moving our hearts.  People were changed and we are so humbled by your work.  Thank you for letting us be a small part of your plan.  Remember to continue to pray for all of those who have made decisions and lift each other up not only in prayer but in person as well.
  • We praise God for the great BBQ that we had!  We made around $7,400.  That money will go towards our mission trips this summer!
  • Start praying now for our summer mission trips.  Pray that all of our juniors and seniors will be able to raise the support they need for their trip to the Dominican Republic.  Pray that others will come up along side of us in prayer.  Pray for the work that will be completed there, the people of the Dominican Republic, travel and all the fine details that will go into planning.
  • Pray for our pastors and leaders of Salem.  For unity, strength, encouragement and wisdom.  Lift up their families and ministries that they are a part of.
  • Lift up the families of Salem this month.  Some families are struggling financially and emotionally right now.  Pray for joy, healing and focus.
  • Continue to pray for our missionaries, consider writing a letter or email to them.
  • Pray for another ministry this month that you are not a part of.
  • Pray for Salem’s new building project for the continued support and for continued planning.
  • Let’s pray for our schools, teachers and fellow students.  Pray that we can be the light we need to be and to share God’s overflowing love.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to convict us and remind us to study God’s word and spend time with Him everyday.  Pray that we would act on these convictions.
  • We ask that our faith would increase.  That we would become less and God would become more.

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Psalm 95:1
